Maryann Nyawira Karanja
Maryann has built a solid foundation in both public institutions and the non-profit space, having worked with the Public Benefit Organizations Regulatory Authority (formerly the NGOs Coordination Board). There, she contributed to high-stakes investigations, compliance audits, and inter-agency collaborations focused on strengthening transparency and accountability in Kenya’s civil society sector.
From analyzing NGO operations and identifying compliance gaps to preparing enforcement reports that inform policy action, Maryann’s work consistently supports institutional integrity and public trust. She’s the kind of professional who combines sharp investigative instincts with a keen eye for structure, systems, and people.
Currently, she is enhancing her toolkit through professional development at the Humanitarian Leadership Academy, with specialized training in operations management, international humanitarian law, M&E, and data accountability.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and Penology from Maasai Mara University, equipping her with deep knowledge of justice systems, behavioral analysis, and investigative frameworks.
Beyond her credentials, Maryann brings that refreshingly candid Gen Z energy — confident, tech-savvy, and solutions-oriented. Her strengths in eCitizen navigation, regulatory research, crisp report writing, and client liaison are delivered with a calm confidence that makes her stand out.
Whether it’s giving our firm a digital edge or helping reframe a challenge with emotional clarity, Maryann is a true asset — blending professionalism with a fresh and modern mindset that keeps our compliance services sharp, forward-looking, modern and people-centere
